Amit Bleiweiss, VP R&D

Amit Bleiweiss manages Omek Interactive’s research and development efforts in the field of motion gaming and computer vision. Mr. Bleiweiss has 15 years of experience in computer vision, computer graphics, and real-time motion capture, a unique combination of expertise that he leverages in the pursuit of world-leading motion gaming technology.

Before joining Omek, Mr. Bleiweiss led the model-based coding group at IDT Video Technologies, managing a team of engineers and artists utilizing a unique model-based approach to video streaming and implementing algorithms for video-driven facial animation and 3D face model reconstruction from a single image, allowing video-driven avatars.

Prior to that Mr. Bleiweiss held numerous positions managing development teams at DPSI, Optitex, and DreamTeam. He was also a software engineer for Silicon Graphics where he developed CosmoPlayer, the first web-based player for virtual worlds. CosmoPlayer was used by more than 20 million people worldwide.

Mr. Bleiweiss earned his B.Sc. (Cum-Laude) in Computer Science from UC Berkeley, and his M.Sc. in Computer Science from Hebrew University, where he conducted research on sensor fusion in the computer vision lab. He has several published papers and patents in the field of computer vision and computer graphics.
